It’s hard to believe that after chances of snow earlier in the week, today it was in the 70s and the spring sport season is already drawing to an end. This afternoon was the first round for the District 6 class AA softball. It was the fastest game I’ve covered all season, and an uneventful first few innings. Things spiced in the later innings with the score tied, 3-3 at the top of the seventh.
Ligonier Valley scored two runs, making the score 5-3 as Bald Eagle Area headed to their last at bat. They battled back and made the score 5-4. With two outs, a runner on first and second, and the count full, one strike ended their season.
