Today I photographed a gentleman who doesn’t appear to fit in this era. He is a local muzzleloader hunter, and dresses in traditional garb to do so. As he demonstrated how his hand carved gun works I snapped away, amazed at the artistry of his hobby. He carved the rifle when he was in his twenties out of curly maple, and hand sewed his elk hide jacket, and deer hide pants.
Though muzzleloading season doesn’t start for several weeks, and I’m not sure when the feature will run, I can’t help but share these photos.
