Bald Eagle Area at Philipsburg-Osceola Football

For week two of Friday night lights I headed to Philipsburg-Osceola as they hosted fellow Mountain League team Bald Eagle Area.  With very shallow sidelines I was dodging the tackles from the competition of the first half.  The second half Bald Eagle Area got ahead for a big win over the Mounties.

PIAA Softball Quarterfinals

Centre County softball teams keep battling the bats to continue in the PIAA softball tournament.  This afternoon I traveled to cover Philipsburg-Osceola take on Beaver at St. Francis University.  I had never photographed at the Red Flash stadium, and I spent most of the game wondering around the field looking for the right angle and location to get clean images.  I did this as the Lady Mounties started on a high note, fell apart for several inning then came back in the seventh for the win.

Adams Welcome Home

Throughout the major league baseball season a Philipsburg-Osceola native was in our news regularly.  When playoffs and the world series rolled around he appeared even more.  Matt Adams was a staple hitter and player for the St. Louis Cardinals this season during their run to the World Series.  Though the Cardinals didn’t come home with a win, Philipsburg residents still welcomed home one of their own with sirens, bells and excitement.  The town held a mini parade for Adams today as he returned home for the off season and Cardinals red and white lined the streets.
