I love being able to share my talents to capture ands share the love and joy of my friends and family. From simply capturing time we spend together, or engagements and weddings, and today a baby announcement! I was thrilled to hear two of my friends are expecting and when they mentioned they had a few ideas for photos I jumped on the opportunity. With their fire place creating a warmth in the room we laughed to capture their love and joy for the little one to come.
(And of course goofed around a little!)
Over the three years I’ve been at the CDT I’ve covered a lot of sporting events at Bald Eagle Area, with two names the stick out, Bryce and Bryan, the Greene brothers. The twins spent their senior year competing in four sports, football, basketball, baseball and track. Whatever I was covering, they were playing, running endless yards for touchdowns, going in for the baskets, and hitting home runs. This afternoon I met up with the boys in the garage at their families home where their Dad has hung up all their team photos through the years. Outside of their athletic ability they were a fun pair, joking around as we created some portraits. They both agreed, no smiles.
Earlier this week I got to spend some time with Janni, my friends’ absolutely adorable newborn. He was 7 days old, awake and moving around for our photo session. We were glad he was awake so we could capture some images with his beautiful blue eyes and some of his expressions.
This may have been the first portrait session I just couldn’t stop smiling while I edited, so precious!
With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching are you lacking the perfect gift for your beau? Or just want to show off that body you work so hard for? Enjoy a fun, sexy photo shoot this month! Specials run through February 14th!

When I was chatting with the Penn State men’s basketball reporter last week an idea of his came up in our conversation. The Coaches versus Cancer game was hitting close to home this year for one of the players. D.J. Newbill, a starter for the team, lost his mom in September to cancer. To preview the event the reporter was talking to Newbill about what this game and the foundation that raises money for cancer means to him. In honor of his mother Newbill has “Meme” tattooed on his neck. I knew I had an image from a previous game that might show the tattoo.
When I found the image I realized the way he shoots he blocks some of the letters and it’s difficult to get a clean shot of the tattoo while he was in a game. I suggested we try to set up a portait, and maybe have him bring a picture of his mom to accompany the story.
Today I got a few minutes to meet up with Newbill before practice in the auxiliary gym at the Bryce Jordan Center. He didn’t have a picture of his mom, but did have the gray uniform the team will be wearing for the special game. With limited time I tried my best to focus on the tattoo and how this Penn State hoops game will be different than some of the others.
This afternoon in the glimpse of sunlight, Erin, a Centre Daily Times co worker, and I went to the arboretum to take a few portraits. Despite the wind, and many of the flowers being brown and wilted we made some fun photographs.
